Dr. Taylor, a local dentist, was probably the greatest unrecognized athlete in Gannon's history. He starred in relative obscurity for both the school's tennis and rifle teams, but gained greater recognition in his post-collegiate tennis endeavors. He won the Ontario Senior Indoor Singles Championship and teamed with Erie's Chuck Daily to also capture the title in the doubles competition, gaining two more trophies to add to the three rooms full that he had already collected. Taylor was the No. 1 ranked senior in the Middle States Tennis Association, is 42nd nationally in USTA senior singles, and with Dailey is 13th nationally in senior doubles.
