Dave Patronik '06 (Men's Golf) became the fifth men's golfer in school history to earn all-america status when he landed a spot on the PING All-America team as a senior. A four-time NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional qualifier, he concluded his collegiate career with a 74.1 average in 98 rounds. Patronik was just as successful in the classroom, being named an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American as a senior.
The Orchard Park, N.Y., native advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship after winning the Great Lakes Regional as a true freshman, finishing tied for 44th at the national championship. His first collegiate year was capped with the 2003 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year award. Patronik won numerous amateur events during his stay at Gannon. A two-time (2004-05) Buffalo District Golf Association Men's Amateur champion, he was named Buffalo District Golf Association Player of the Year in 2005. Patronik also won the Callaway Western New York Open, the Elkdale Open and the Niagara Frontier Scratch Individual Championship in 2006.
Patronik came back to Gannon to serve as the program's head coach during the 2009-10 season. Drew Deimel qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships that season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional. Deimel later placed 18th at the national championships.
