Gannon University had 164 student-athletes recognized by the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) as 2024-25 Academic Achievement Award recipients. The honor, now in its 18th year, celebrates the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level in sponsored sports.

This year's awards program set records with 22,756 student-athletes recognized from 202 institutions, which was the largest total in the program's history. Since the program's inception, 190,032 student-athletes have been honored.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) led all Division II conferences with 2,051 recipients, led by East Stroudsburg with 242. Gannon's 164 recipients ranked fourth in the conference.

"Since its inception, this program has been dedicated to celebrating the exceptional student-athletes who define excellence across our Division II landscape," said Traci Murphy, vice president for athletics at Daemen University and current D2 ADA President. "This year, we are thrilled to recognize a record number of deserving individuals, reflecting the unprecedented dedication within our division – not only in athletics, but in the classroom as well. This year's record-breaking submissions for both individuals and schools serve as a testament to the Division II way. Thanks to the administrators that nominated these outstanding individuals, and much-deserved congratulations to our 22,000-plus recipients."

To qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, completed at least two years of college-level work, and been active on an intercollegiate team during the previous academic year.

The D2 ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and serves to provide educational and networking opportunities, enhance operating standards, and promote the profession of Division II athletics directors.
