LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon University continued its tradition of academic excellence during the 2025-26 academic year, placing 300 student-athletes on the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete list, the PSAC announced on Wednesday.

The Golden Knights led the conference with the highest percentage of Scholar-Athletes, as 300 of Gannon's 434 PSAC student-athletes earned the distinction for an impressive 69 percent. Gannon was one of five institutions to have at least 60 percent of its student-athletes recognized, joining Slippery Rock (64%), East Stroudsburg (62%), Seton Hill (62%), and West Chester (60%).

To qualify as a PSAC Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 upon completion of the academic year. The PSAC recognized a record 4,135 Scholar-Athletes in 2025-26, representing 56 percent of the PSAC's student-athlete population.

The total increased by 213 Scholar-Athletes from the 2024-25 academic year and marked the 10th consecutive year the PSAC has recognized at least 40 percent of its student-athlete population with Scholar-Athlete status.

Gannon's 300 Scholar-Athletes ranked sixth among the PSAC's 17 institutions. East Stroudsburg led the PSAC with 333 Scholar-Athletes, followed by Slippery Rock (323), Seton Hill (322), West Chester (322) and Bloomsburg (321).

Among Gannon's honorees, 156 men and 144 women earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Gannon's totals do not include student-athletes from sports that did not compete in PSAC competition during the 2025-26 academic year. Acrobatics & Tumbling, Competitive Cheer and Dance, Women's Wrestling and both Water Polo programs were not included in this year's totals.

Women's Wrestling will be recognized beginning with the 2026-27 academic year following its addition as a PSAC-sponsored sport.

The baseball team led all Gannon programs with 34 PSAC Scholar-Athletes, followed by women's soccer with 31 and men's soccer with 27. Women's lacrosse and softball each added 23 Scholar-Athletes, while football contributed 22.
