The Gannon baseball team continues Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Monday afternoon with a doubleheader against Clarion. Game one of the doubleheader at McConnell Family Stadium is set to begin at 1 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, the Golden Knights split a road doubleheader with the Golden Eagles, winning 4-2 and losing 3-1. The 4-2 victory was Gannon's first conference victory of the year. Junior Dominic Mori (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) (.392, 20-for-51) leads Gannon in hitting this season with a team-high six doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI. Junior pitcher Jarod Morrison (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton) (2-2) has a 3.60 ERA with 18 strikeouts, while senior David Cricks (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) (2-0) has a team-high 24 strikeouts. Junior Dillon Wolbert (.360, 18-for-50) leads the Golden Eagles with six doubles, while redshirt sophomore Chandler Palyas has a team-high 10 RBIs.
 
 
Softball Welcomes Point Park Tuesday in Non-Conference Doubleheader

The Gannon softball team hosts Point Park in the 2018 home opener Tuesday afternoon. The doubleheader at McConnell Family Stadium is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. The Lady Knights have had three doubleheaders in the past two weeks postponed due to weather and have not played since Saturday, March 10. This season, junior Kellyn Perich (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) (.404) leads Gannon with team-highs in hits (21), runs (13) and doubles (7). Perich also leads Gannon in the circle, as she owns a team-best 1.09 ERA and 2-0 record in five appearances. Rookie Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) has a slugging percentage of .750 and leads the Lady Knights in RBIs with 13 and home runs with three. For Point Park, junior Shannon Davis is hitting .360 (9-for-25), while senior Kim Corcoran has a team-high 13 hits.
 

Softball Opens PSAC Action Thursday Against Mercyhurst

The Gannon softball team continues its homestand stretch Thursday afternoon with its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener against Mercyhurst. First pitch of the doubleheader against the local rival is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. start at McConnell Family Stadium. The Gannon pitching unit of Perich, sophomore Madi Beining (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and freshman Kennedy DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) have combined for a conference-best 1.88 ERA while holding opponents to a .255 batting average. Mercyhurst's offense is led by freshman Sarah Koscho, who leads the team in hits (14), doubles (4), home runs (1) and RBI (8). Rookie Tori Pierucci anchors the Lakers' pitching rotation with a 2.30 ERA and 44 strikeouts across 51.2 innings.

The Gannon baseball team welcomes conference foe Seton Hill to McConnell Family Stadium Friday afternoon for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader. Game one is set to begin at 1 p.m. For the Golden Knights, senior Mike Colosi (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Falls) matches Mori with a team-high 20 hits. Sophomore Craig Lewis (.391, 18-for-46) leads the Griffins with a team-high 18 hits and six doubles. Senior Tom McCarthy has a team-high 12 RBI, while redshirt junior Colton Carney has nine stolen bases. Senior pitcher Perry DellaValle (1-4) has fanned 36 batters across 24.1 innings. He leads a Seton Hill pitching unit that is ranked third in the conference in ERA (4.39) and third in batting average against (.256).

The Gannon lacrosse team welcomes Kutztown to McConnell Family Stadium Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game. Prior to Saturday's contest, Gannon will take a short trip to Edinboro on Wednesday, March 28. This spring, senior Leilani King (St. Albans, Vt./Bellows Free Academy) leads the Lady Knights in scoring with 15 goals and 10 assists, while sophomore Erin Rotondo (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) has 16 points on 15 goals and one assist. Freshman goalkeeper Erin Renwick (Islip, N.Y./Islip) has clocked 243.11 minutes in goal and recorded 41 saves on 117 shots faced. Senior Sarah Gabriele leads Kutztown with 15 goals and 11 assists, while junior Makayla Bowman has 23 points on 15 goals and eight assists. Kutztown goalkeeper freshman Haley Kline has made 55 saves in her 360 minutes of action.

The Gannon softball team wraps up a six-game homestand Saturday afternoon with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader against California (Pa.) Game one is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Sophomore Rachel Tanilli (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes) is hitting .317 (13-for-41) with eight RBI and a team-high five stolen bases. Prior to making the trip to Gannon on Saturday, California (Pa.) will take its 6-8 record to PSAC foe Slippery Rock on Friday afternoon. Freshman Brooke Wilson (.419, 18-for-43) leads the Vulcans with three stolen bases, while senior Carlee Wickstrom (.400, 18-for-45) leads the team in triples (2), home runs (4), RBI (19) and slugging percentage (.800). Junior Emilee Downing is 3-1 in the circle with a team-high 30 strikeouts across 28 innings.  
 
 
Acrobatics & Tumbling Hosts Alderson Broaddus Saturday on Senior Night

The Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team welcomes Alderson Broaddus to the Hammermill Center Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Saturday will serve as Senior Night for the 2018 graduating Lady Knights. Gannon was ranked No. 6 in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling (NCATA) preseason coaches' poll, while the Battlers checked in as the nation's eighth-ranked team. The Lady Knights are 4-2 this season after recording a 270.50-230.66 victory against No. 15 West Liberty on Saturday, March 17. In addition to the win, the Lady Knights raised $3,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Alderson Broaddus has won its last three contests against West Virginia Wesleyan, Glenville State and King for a 3-3 record.
