The Gannon University acrobatics & tumbling team remained at No. 7 in the latest National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Rankings, as the organization released its second set of 2026 rankings on Wednesday afternoon.

The top 15 saw no changes this week, with the Golden Knights continuing to solidify their position among the nation's elite. Gannon, now 5-3 in the season, sits just behind No. 6 Augustana and ahead of No. 8 Saint Leo after climbing two spots to No. 7 in the opening rankings.

Head coach Addy Womeldorph's squad continues to build momentum down the stretch, most recently turning in a strong performance against No. 4 Fairmont State. The Golden Knights posted a season-high score of 267.550, pushing the Falcons to their top mark of the year in a 271.145–267.550 decision.
Gannon also claimed key event victories, edging Fairmont State in the acro event, 29.000–28.850, and adding another win in the toss, 29.000–28.550, highlighting the team's execution against one of the nation's top programs.

Freshman Adyson Rothermel (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser High) continued her standout season, collecting her fifth consecutive NCATA Division II Freshman of the Week honor.

Baylor remains the top-ranked team in the country, followed by Oregon, Quinnipiac, Fairmont State, and Iona to round out the top five. Duquesne and Azusa Pacific complete the top 10, while Glenville State, Lander, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Wingate, and Hawaii Pacific occupy spots 11 through 15.

The NCATA championships committee evaluates teams based on several criteria, including win-loss record, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, common opponents, and various scoring metrics such as average meet score, start value, and score differential  all adjusted to remove high and low marks — along with overall progression throughout the season.

The top eight teams in the final rankings will qualify for the 2026 NCATA National Championships, set to be hosted by Azusa Pacific University at the Felix Events Center. The eight-team, single-elimination tournament begins on Thursday, April 23 with quarterfinal matchups, followed by semifinals on Friday evening and the national championship meet on Saturday, April 25 at 5 p.m. Event finals will take place Sunday morning.

One final set of regular season rankings will be released on April 8, with the official championship field and event finals qualifiers announced on Monday, April 13.
