Adyson Rothermel (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser High) continued her dominant freshman campaign, earning her fifth consecutive NCATA Freshman of the Week honor. The freshman back/base from Wernersville, Pa., competed in eight heats along with the team event, posting scores of 9.70 or higher in six heats.
She recorded a 9.250 in the compulsory acro, 9.750 in compulsory pyramid, and 9.850 in compulsory toss. In the optional heats, Rothermel posted a 9.750 in the acro 5-element, 9.800 in the inversion pyramid, and 9.850 in the open pyramid.
She also added a 9.700 in the open toss and a 9.550 in the synchronized toss, while contributing to a team event score of 88.000.
Rothermel's performance helped power No. 7 Acrobatics & Tumbling in a Top-10 showdown against No. 4 Fairmont State, where the Golden Knights pushed the Falcons to a season-high score before falling, 271.145–267.550.
Gannon will conclude its regular-season on Thursday, April 9, traveling to Canisius for a 6 p.m. meet in Buffalo, N.Y.
