Biography

Knight is one of two returning point guards who have been starters. The 5’11” guard immediately became one of the GLIAC’s top point guards during his first season at Gannon in 2006-07, leading the conference in assists per game (5.4). He then became one of the region’s best sixth man last season when he was the first player off the bench.

The Erie, Pa., native is considered one of the best passers in the league, as well as a good on-the-ball defender. Knight, who transferred to Gannon prior to the 2006-07 season from NCAA Division II Pfeiffer (N.C.) University, plays with a high energy and passion. He is a relentless defender.

Junior Season: Was one of four Golden Knights to play in every game ... performed at a high level in the classroom, being named to the NABC Honors Court, reserved for juniors and seniors with at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average ... landed a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic team ... reached double digits in scoring twice, including a season-high 12 points at Ashland ... hit 4-of-7 shots against the Eagles, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line ... netted 10 points in the season opener against Penn State Greater Allegheny ... hit at least one three-pointer off the bench in 15 games ... averaged 13.6 minutes despite not starting a game.

Sophomore Season: Saw action in 24 games during his first season at Gannon, starting 19 at point guard ... led the GLIAC and ranked 23rd nationally in assists per game (5.38) ... ranked third among GLIAC players in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.02) and 30th in minutes played per game (29.33) ... had arguably his best game against Ferris State at the Hammermill Center ... posted season-highs against the Bulldogs in points (23), assists (12), steals (3), and three-point field goals (5) ... went 6-of-7 from the field, 5-of-6 from three-point range, and 6-of-8 from the free throw line while posting his first career double-double against Ferris State ... reached double digits in assists three times, matching his season-high (12) against IUP ... dished out 22 assists against Ashland and IUP without scoring a point ... scored 11 points during the season finale against Mercyhurst.

At Pfeiffer: Played in every game as a true freshman, starting 14 ... averaged 6.8 points, three assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.7 steals in 18.6 minutes ... shot 34.6 percent (28-81) from three-point range and 72.2 percent (39-54) from the free throw line ... reached double digits in scoring nine times, including a season-high 16 points against Mount Olive during a 105-102 loss in the CVAC semifinals ... began his collegiate career with eight points, six assists, and three rebounds in 17 minutes during an exhibition game at Division I Purdue.

High School: Played for head coach Brian Flanagan at Cathedral Prep (Pa.) High School ... averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 steals as a senior ... led the Ramblers in scoring, assists, and steals ... named to the All-State Class AAAA team ... earned all-region first-team, all-district first-team, and Erie Times-News Player-of-the-Year honors.
