Howard returns as Gannon’s starter at shooting guard. The senior transferred to Gannon from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois prior to the 2007-08 season and immediately made an impact for the Golden Knights. The 6’3” guard is considered a tremendous defender with a great deal of basketball savvy. One of the region’s best slashers to the hoop, Howard has a knack for scoring. He was one of Gannon’s most underrated players last season.
Junior Season: Was one of three Golden Knights to start every game ... was Gannon’s third-leading scorer with 11.8 points per game ... performed at a high level in the classroom, being named to the NABC Honors Court, reserved for juniors and seniors with at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average ... ranked 29th among GLIAC players in minutes played per game (30.03) and 30th in points per game (11.8) ... named Porreco Cup MVP after recording 41 points and seven rebounds in two games ... hit 18-of-23 shots during the tournament, including a 3-of-6 chart from three-point range ... netted a season-high 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting in the Porreco Cup semifinals against Seton Hill ... reached double digits in scoring 19 times, including his first four games at Gannon ... shot 60 percent or better six times ... reached the 20-point plateau twice.
At Lewis & Clark C.C.: Led Lewis & Clark to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Final Four ... helped guide Lewis & Clark to a 27-10 record in 2006-07 ... averaged 15 points and five rebounds during his final year ... earned all-conference and all-region honors ... was a member of the Dean’s List.
