Wilson is expected to compete for a starting post position in 2008-09 after being one of Gannon’s top players off the bench last season. He transferred to Gannon prior to the 2007-08 campaign from Kennedy-King Community College in Chicago, Ill., where he averaged a double-double.
The Vidalia, La., native is considered one of Gannon’s best defenders and athletes. ““Dave has made great strides since coming to Gannon,” said Reilly. “He is another one of the hard workers on our team and is in position to make a significant impact for the team. He is an excellent rebounder who runs the floor well. He has made great strides.”
Junior Season: Played in 30 games during his first season at Gannon ... was Gannon’s top scorer off the bench, averaging 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game ... was one of three Golden Knights to reach double digits in blocks (11) ... shot 55.4 percent (46-83) from the floor, finishing the season as one of four Golden Knights who shot 50 percent or better from the field ... scored a season-high 16 points during a season-opening victory against Penn State Greater Allegheny ... tied the season-high with 16 markers against Wayne State ... was 5-of-8 from the field and perfect in six free throw attempts during both games ... recorded six points and a season-high 10 rebounds during a win at Lake Superior State ... averaged 15.7 minutes of action in the last three post-season games.
At Kennedy-King Community College: Led Kennedy-King to the region championship in 2006-07, averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds ... was a JUCO All-American ... named to the All-America second team.
