Biography
Thompson had arguably the best year of her career during her junior season, steadily increasing her playing time off the bench. The 6’0” forward looks to continue the trend by competing for a starting spot this season as a senior. Thompson is the most experienced post player on the roster. Her quickness and athleticism make for great potential.
2009-10 Season: Played in 37 games … set new career marks in almost every category during junior season … scored a career-high 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting against Indiana (Pa.) … scored double-digit points 11 times, including three straight games from January 23-January 30 … averaged 14.3 points during the span … played a season-high 29 minutes in the NCAA Division II semifinal game against Emporia State … scored 16 points after shooting 7-of-9 against the Hornets … sunk 5-of-8 shots against Alaska Fairbanks, including two three-point baskets … grabbed eight rebounds at Clarion in 22 minutes of action … had four assists the following night at Slippery Rock … blocked three shots against Southern New Hampshire … had a pair of steals in four different games … averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, shooting 54.5 percent (110-202) during her junior campaign.
2008-09 Season: Saw action in 18 games ... scored a season-high five points and grabbed three rebounds in the season opener at Concord ... added four points and a season-high seven rebounds against Salem International ... reached double digits in minutes played three times, including a season-high 23 minutes against Salem International ... secured at least two rebounds nine times.
2007-08 Season: Played in seven games ... saw first collegiate action at rival Mercyhurst on January 5 ... scored first career points against the Lakers ... hit first four collegiate shots during her first three appearances ... scored in five of the seven games she played in ... grabbed multiple rebounds three times despite averaging 5.4 minutes per game.
High School: Played for Don Readance at Shaker Heights (Ohio) High School ... earned All-Ohio honorable-mention and all-conference accolades as a senior ... recorded 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals as a junior ... was an all-conference selection as a junior after shooting 43 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range.
