INDIANA, PA - In one of the tightest fields of the season through one round, Gannon sits tied for fourth following the first day of the Cecil C. Spadafora IUP Invitational, shooting 14-over as a team. Gannon has three players inside the top 20 and are just five strokes back of first place.Â
THE KNIGHTCAP - GANNON's TOP FOUR
Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) - A model of consistency on Tuesday, Seppanen shot a two-over 73 for Gannon's best score of day one. The Swede began on hole two and made nine straight pars to begin his round. Following a 38 on the back nine, he would birdie his last hole (par five first) to shoot 35 on the front to close his round.Â
Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) -Â Â Wolak came out firing out of the gate, birding the first and fourth holes he played in the round. He would end the front nine with a blistering three-under 33, and also found a birdie on the par three 15th hole on the back. An 18 hole total of three-over 74 has him tied for 14th entering the second day.Â
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) - Parrini birdied the first hole, a 556 yard par five, and made just one bogey on the front nine for an even par 36. Parrini finished his round with a birdie on the 18th hole and is tied for 20th with one round left to play.Â
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) - Starting with Parrini on the first, Delorenzi's big moment came at the par five fifth hole, when he hit a tremendous approach to earn and then sink an eagle putt to bring his score to one over par at the time. He would shoot 37 on the front and a 39 on the back, capped with a birdie on the 18th.Â
