WASHINGTON, PA– Cold and snow was the name of the game on day one of the Vulcan Fire Classic, hosted by California (PA). The Golden Knights sit in the middle of the pack as a team, sixth place overall.

• Follow The Leader - Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) battled the elements and took the 18-hole lead on Monday, shooting even par (72) for the round. Birdies on the seventh and 16th holes anchored the senior's solid start. The mark is more than a stroke better then his average for the season. 
• Top Five- Reigning PSAC men's athlete of the week Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) is hot on the heels of his teammate. The Italian sits fourth overall after a round of two-over 74. Gio would double the second but make just one bogey or worse the rest of the way, securing a birdie at the 13th. 
• Other Results - Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) shot one-under 35 on the back nine with three birdies to finish with a 79 for his round ... Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) and Kyle Westfall (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy (Erie)) are tied for 54th (+12) ... Filip Anderson (Täby, Sweden/Österåkers Gymnasium), playing as an individual for the tournament, shot six over and is 26th.
