LACONIA, IND -Â The Golden Knights battled hard through 36 holes on Monday to sit second after the first day of the Fidianapolis Intercollegiate. Gannon had impressive performances from its top two in the lineup, while others also combined for strong play to keep pace with the rest of the field.Â
THE KNIGHTCAP - GANNON's TOP FOUR
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) - The junior was consistent as consistent could be on Monday, carding back to back even par rounds of 72 to finish his Gannon's highest individual after day one. He would make five birdies in the opening round and shoot a one-under 35 on the back nine. A four-under 32 on the back nine of the second round soon followed. He's third on the individual leaderboard.Â
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) -Â AÂ tremendous start to the tournament saw Delorenzi shoot a round of 69 over the first 18 holes. Six birdies highlighted the round, including bookending the round with birdies on the first and 18th holes. The Italian would card a 77 in the second round, leaving him two-over par for the tournament and in the top 10.Â
Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) - Seppanen shot a one-over 73 to start the day and finished his 36 hole stretch at five-over par, tied for 19th. The Swede collected four birdies across both rounds, but his highlight came on the final hole of round one, when he made an eagle putt at the 18th coming back towards the clubhouse.
Mario Estevez (Gijón, Spain/Colegio Montedeva de Gijón) - Also tied for 19th, Estevez entered the starting lineup and made it count on Monday, finishing his two rounds at five-over par. He would make four birdies in the opening round to secure an even par score of 72, including a two-under stretch between the fourth and ninth holes.
Other Notes - Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) and Filip Anderson (Täby, Sweden/ÖsterÃ¥kers Gymnasium) are each at 11-over par, tied for 37th.Â

The final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow, as the Golden Knights look to make up an eight shot deficit and take over first place, currently held by Ferris State.Â
