LACONIA, IND - The Golden Knights secured third place in the team standings following the final round of the Fidianapolis Intercollegiate. Gannon shot 10-over as a team in the final round and was just nine strokes behind the winner Findlay.Â
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) followed up his first place performance a week ago by finishing second at one-under par for the tournament, the only Gannon golfer to finish under par.Â
THE KNIGHTCAP - GANNON TOP FOUR
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) - The junior finished tied for second second in the individual field by carding a round of one-under 71 on Tuesday. Parrini was one of only three golfer to finish under par for the tournament. HIs round culiminated in a strong first nine, where he shot and two-under 34, includes birdies on the 17th and 18th holes.Â
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) - The senior finished just outside of the top 10, earning 12th place with a score of six-over. He would make two birdies in his round of 76 on Tuesday, including on the second hole he played on the par five 11th.Â
Mario Estevez (Gijón, Spain/Colegio Montedeva de Gijón) - Arguably his strongest tournament of the year, Estevez would finish 15th, the third highest GU placer, in the field. He also had the second best Gannon round score of the day, carding a two-over 74. Two birdies on 13 and 17 highlighted his day, along with a score of even par 36 on the final nine holes.Â
Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) - Seppanen shot a six-over 78 to conclude his tournament, finishing 25th. The Swede went 40 going out and 38 coming back in.
