Acrobatics and Tumbling Preview
GANNON GOLDEN KNIGHTS (2-1) at FAIRMONT STATE FALCONS (3-0)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, February 23 / 2:00 PM
VENUE/LOCATION: Feaster Center (Joe Retton Arena, Dan Cava Court) – Fairmont, W.Va

The third-ranked Golden Knights are scheduled to compete against No. 7 Fairmont State in a dual meet on Sunday, February 23, starting at 2:00 PM in the Feaster Center.

"We love playing Fairmont each year; they are so much fun, and the sportsmanship from both teams always creates an enjoyable competition," said head coach Brandy Duren

The Golden Knights return to familiar territory, as the Feaster Center was the venue for the 2024 NCATA National Championships, where Gannon finished as national runners-up and earned national titles in both the Synchronized Pyramid and Synchronized Toss.

"My goal is for our team to execute our skills at a high level, perform cleanly, and continue to build confidence in what we present on the floor!" remarked Duren.

This matchup features two nationally-ranked top 10 teams. Fairmont State has had a strong start to the season, boasting a 3-0 record with victories over West Liberty, Glenville State, and Wheeling. The meet against the Golden Knights marks the Falcons' home opener, as well.

Meanwhile, Gannon is coming off a commanding sweep in its home opener, a tri-meet against Buffalo State and Trine, where they achieved a meet-high total of 257.285, improving their record to 2-1 for the season.

"The team is adjusting to their new meet day responsibilities, which include more tasks than in previous seasons," Duren added. "As long as they remain confident in their abilities, we should have another successful meet."

Gannon aims to secure its third win of the season and end the Falcon's three-meet winning streak. The Golden Knights defeated Fairmont State a year ago 278.605-268.890.
