Preliminaries will be held daily at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m.
Last year the Golden Knights finished fourth out of seven teams. The 400-yard medley relay team, consisting of
Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum),
Aidar Sataev (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan/Forest Hill),
Will Retsch (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton), and
Malachi Boyle (Knoxville, Tenn./Home Life Academy), achieved a third-place time of 3:20.22, earning All-PSAC accolades. Additionally, the 200-yard medley relay team, comprised of
Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum),
Josh Nel (Johannesburg, South Africa/American International),
Will Retsch (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton), and
Will Moses (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake), finished second with a time of 1:31.15, also earning All-PSAC recognition. On the final day of competition,
Malachi Boyle (Knoxville, Tenn./Home Life Academy) broke the 200-yard breaststroke record and secured a second-place finish, earning All-PSAC honors as well.
"We are looking forward to competing at the conference championship," said first-year head coach
Milan Medo. Under his leadership the men's team recorded a 3-5 dual meet record and achieved a first-place finish at the Malone Invitational, scoring a total of 1,738 points among a 14-team field.
Medo earned his first victory as the head coach of the Golden Knight men's swimming team on November 9 against IUP, 175-87.
"Everyone has put in a lot of time and effort this season, and we expect great results from our competing athletes next week," Medo added.
