Gannon Swimmers Widen Lead in Malone Invitational

CANTON, Ohio – The Gannon men's swimming team maintained a sizeable lead following the second day of competition at the Malone Invitational. The Golden Knights widened their lead over the rest of the field, now totaling 1,179 points. Oberlin is a distant second with 774 points while Fairmont State has 431.5 points. A total of 14 teams are competing.

Gannon picked up four first place finishes on Friday night. But in addition the Golden Knights piled up points with multiple swimmers finishing strong. For instance, a Gannon swimmer did not win the 200-yard freestyle. But the next four swimmers to touch were all Golden Knights.

Thursday's results were not available until today. The Golden Knights jumped out to a big lead while posting three first-place finishes. The first place finishers for Thursday and Friday are listed below:
