NORTH EAST, PA – The Gannon men's golf team turned in a dominant win for the second straight tournament, and
Abe Holmes (Barrie, Ontario/Barrie North Collegiate) won a title in a playoff over a teammate for the second straight outing on Saturday.

Dustin Coleman's Golden Knights claimed a 22-stroke victory in the Mercyhurst Laker Fall Invitational as they played the two-day, 36-hole tournament in 9-under-par 567. IUP was second with 589 in the 14-team tournament.
Gannon shot 3-under 285 on Saturday after opening the tournament with a 6-under 282 on Friday.
Holmes, who shot an even-par 72 on Friday, followed with a 3-under 69 for Saturday's low round among all golfers.
Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), a Gannon sophomore, led the tourney Friday after shooting a 4-under 68, the low round of the tournament. He followed with a 73 on Saturday as both Holmes and Wareham closed with 3-under 141 scores.
Both players birdied the first playoff hole, No. 1, before Holmes parred No. 2 and Wareham bogeyed.
In Gannon's season-opening tournament, the California Vulcan Invitational, Holmes tied teammate
Ryan Ferry (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) for the low score and then edged Ferry in a two-hole playoff.
Holmes eagled the par-5 No. 1 hole to open his day on Saturday.
Ferry (73-70—143) and
Shaunak Rama (Bryanston, South Africa) (70-73-143) tied for fourth on Saturday.
Elijah Ruppert (Fleetwood, Pa./Brandywine Heights) (72-75—147),
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy) (73-79—152),
Dylan Flinchbaugh (Saegertown/Saegertown) (77-81-158), and Zach Henry (81-80—161) rounded out the scoring for Gannon.
Gannon will return to the course on Sunday when the Knights host the two-day Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
