YORK, Pa. – The Gannon men's swimming team finished third at the four-day PSAC Championship event that wrapped up on Saturday evening in York, Pa. The Knights wrapped up the week by qualifying eight finalists on the final night of the championship.
 
Stephen McCallum (Cape Town, South Africa/Wynberg Boys') highlighted Gannon's night with a runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.77. The time helped him earn All-PSAC honors and garnered an NCAA B-cut in the event. Joey Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) swam in the 100 freestyle B-final and won the heat with a time of 46.40. He finished ninth overall in the event.
 
Ryan Barclay (Knoxville, TN/Bearden) gave the Knights their second-best finish of the day in the 1650 freestyle. His time of 16:10.44 was the third fastest of the day and resulted in All-PSAC honors for the freshman.
 
Andrew Beyer (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) and Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) both qualified for the A-final in the 200 backstroke on Saturday morning, and the duo finished back-to-back in fifth and sixth place in the event to end up on the podium. Jacob Baum (North East, Pa./Cathedral Preparatory) competed in the 200 backstroke B-final and finished second in the heat with a time of 1:54.68. He earned a top-10 finish in the event.
 
In the final individual event of the championship, Josh Nel (Johannesburg, South Africa/American International) competed in the 200 breaststroke A-final and finished eighth in the race with a time of 2:10.02. Seth Butler (Maineville, Oh./Little Miami) was first to touch the wall in the event's B-final and finished ninth overall with a time of 2:07.91. Had he qualified for the A-final, he would have finished sixth in that race.
 
The evening came to a close with the Gannon foursome of (Joey) Decheck, Connor Hebert (Damascus, Md./Damascus), Will Moses (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) and McCallum finishing fourth in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:04.41.
