ERIE, Pa. – The Carneval Athletic Pavilion Pool is back open for business and hosts its first dual meet since Jan. 25, 2020 as Gannon welcomes Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday.

The men's swimming and diving team looks to continue its success coming off the 2022 Magnus Cup, where the program finished in third place behind Division I programs Xavier and Cleveland State and set six new school records along the way. The Crimson Hawks of IUP also competed at the event, finishing in eighth place.

Gannon (1-1 in dual meets this season) has won three consecutive duals against IUP, including last year's 170-92 result in which the Golden Knights earned first-place finishes in 11 of 14 events. Hiyan Kubagawa (Sao Paulo, Brazil/) led the way with three victories (in the 200 butterfly, 200 breaststroke, and 200 individual medley) while Ryan Barclay (Knoxville, TN/Bearden) (first in the 1000 and 500 free) and Stephen McCallum (Cape Town, South Africa/Wynberg Boys') (first in the 100 and 200 free) each won a pair of events. The other individual wins belonged to Justin Decheck (Plum, Pa./Plum) in the 50 backstroke and Andrew Beyer (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) in the 200 backstroke and the Golden Knights also touched the wall first in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

The Crimson Hawks enter Saturday's dual unbeaten at 4-0 after wins over Shippensburg (153.5-122.2), Edinboro (164-60), Washington & Jefferson (160-39), and Chatham (159-20.)

The Golden Knights are also raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a Rubber Duck Toss that will take place during the dual meet. Ducks can be purchased for five dollars apiece at the event.

After completion of Saturday's dual, Gannon has the rest of the year off and returns to action in the new year, hosting Edinboro for a dual meet on Jan. 20, 2023.
