ERIE, Pa. -- No. 21 Gannon is set for a top 25 showdown this week as it faces No. 13 Daemen in a two-game home-and-home series beginning on Friday at Hammermill Center at 6:00 p.m. The Golden Knights will wrap up the series taking the trip to Daemen on Sunday at noon.

FASTBREAK POINTS
  • Gannon improved its record to 4-0 after rolling past Roberts Wesleyan earlier this week, 76-48. It marks the Knights' best start to a season since the 2009-10 season.
  • This will be the 15th all-time meeting in a series that dates back to 1987-85. In their most recent meeting in 2018-19, Daemen topped Gannon, 58-52, at Hammermill Center. 
  • Gannon moved up to No. 21 in the latest D2SIDA Top 25 Poll this week. The Golden Knights also remained at No. 3 in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region poll. 
  • Emily Poling (Defiance, Ohio/Defiance), who has started all four games, has reached double digits in scoring in her last three straight games. She matched a season-high 15 points and drained a season-best three pointers in the win over Roberts Wesleyan earlier this week. 
  • Sam Pirosko (Eastlake, Ohio/Eastlake North) has come off the bench in all four games this season and posted double figures in scoring in her last two games. She fell just short of a double-double at Roberts Wesleyan with 10 points and career-high nine rebounds. 
LAST TIME OUT
  • No. 21 Gannon connected on a season-high 11 three pointers to roll past Roberts Wesleyan on the road, 76-48. Emily Poling (Defiance, Ohio/Defiance) (15), Tori Obenrader (Fryburg, Pa./North Clarion), (15), Emma Wright (Erie, Pa./Talawanda) (11) and Sam Pirosko (Eastlake, Ohio/Eastlake North) (10) each reached double digits in scoring to lead the Golden Knights.
  • The contest marked just the second all-time meeting between the two programs and first since the 2000-01 season. Gannon leads the all-time series, 2-0.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
  • Daemen enters the weekend with a 3-0 overall record and most recently cruised past D'Youville, 90-37. The Wildcats are members of the East Coast Conference and finished 2019-20 with a 23-5 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. 
  • Daemen is currently positioned No. 13 in the D2SIDA Top 25 Poll. 
  • The Wildcats are led by head coach Jenepher Banker. She has compiled a 64-47 mark over five seasons at the helm.
  • Katie Titus leads the Wildcats with a team-best 18.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season. Shes reached double figures in scoring in all three games this season, including a season-high 25 points against D'Youville on Jan. 22.
