Marsico Tops 165 Bracket, Leads Six Gannon Placers At JCU Open

EVENT NOTES

The B team competition closed the regular season for the Golden Knights.
Marsico blitzed through the 165-pound Blue bracket, earning two majors, a fall and a 12-8 decision to win the title. That gives him seven straight wins and back-to-back tournaments with top-three finishes.
Babauta fell in his first bout of the day to the eventual champ of the 141 Blue bracket, but he responded with a pin and a tech fall to reach the consolation final, getting a forfeit there to finish third.
Sidoruk also came back for third after falling in his first match, collecting two falls in a total of 1:28 to close his day.

UP NEXT

Gannon takes next weekend off before beginning the postseason with the NCAA Super Region 1 Championships Feb. 29 at Mercyhurst.
