2020-21: Was 1-0, winning by fall over Brylan Clouse of Lake Erie at 1:37 in a 174 lb. bout at the Hurst Round Robin … named a =n NWCA Scholar All-American for the third time.
 
2019-20: Had an 11-13 record, including 2-1 in duals, while competing at 174 lbs… won eight matches by bonus points, with a major decision, 3 technical falls, and 4 falls … placed fourth at the Jamestown Open, going 2-2 … also came in fifth at the Mount Union Invitational, again going 2-2, with both wins by technical fall … was named the PSAC Champion Scholar and NWCA Scholar All-American.
 
2018-19: Competed as a freshman at 157 lbs., finishing with a 6-10 record and 1-1 in duals … had one major decision, a technical fall, and a fall … medaled at the JCU Open, finishing second in the blue division, going 2-1 … that included a wild 19-16 decision over Mitch Tikkanen of John Carroll in the semifinals … named to the NWCA All-Academic Team.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Wrestled for head coach Dean Johnson at Warren Area (Pa.) High School ... a two-time District 10 place winner, earning fourth and second place finishes at the District 10 meet ... a First Team Region 4 All-Star ... compiled 68 career wins ... named to the Third Team All-State Academic team.
 
PERSONAL:  Born July 24, 2000 ... son of Pam and Dick Balas … Legal Studies major with minors in Pre-Law and Philosophy … has two sisters.
