EVENT NOTES
  • Gannon had 14 wrestlers entered in the event, with nine of those earning spots in the top four at their weight.
  • Long won his second tournament title in as many chances this season, and didn't come close to being challenged. He turned in a 17-second fall in his opening match, an 18-0 tech fall in the first period in the quarters, then a pin in 1:15 to reach the final, where teammate Brad Crislip (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna) forfeited.
  • Ramage turned in a fall, a lopsided 20-6 major and a tough 5-3 decision in the final to win at 197, and has now won five bouts in a row.
  • Young was the first winner of the day, taking 141 with a fall, a 17-4 major and a tight 4-3 win in the title bout.
  • Overall, Gannon wrestlers went 32-18 on the day, including nine pins, two tech falls and six majors.
