Women’s Water Polo Trio Garners 2019 WWPA All-Conference Honors

ERIE, Pa. – The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) releases its 2019 All-Conference selections on Wednesday afternoon and three Lady Knights received recognition from the league.
 
Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa./Villia Maria), Campbell Ruh (Walnut, Calif./Lutheran High School of Orange County) and Nicole Wiemken (Napoleon, Ohio /Napoleon) were all honored on Wednesday with Fehr picking up Second Team laurels, Ruh landing on the Honorable Mention team and Wiemken earning a spot on the All-Freshman team.
 
The trio has helped power the Gannon offense this season and will lead the Lady Knights into the 2019 WWPA Championships beginning this Friday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Gannon enters the conference tournament with a +10 goal differential in conference games this season.
 
Fehr has poured in a team-leading 59 goals this season and is currently 10th in school history in goals for a single season. She ranks third in the league in goals and posted multiple goals in 14 straight contests, dating back to February 17 against Bucknell.
 
Ruh has racked up 71 points this season for Gannon and is fifth in the WWPA in points/game (3.38). She leads the team with 27 assists this season, including a season-high four helpers against Iona on February 16.
 
Wiemken enters the postseason on a torrid offensive pace with four points in each of the last two games. The freshman has found the net 25 times while assisting on 22 shots for 47 points. She is one of five different players on the team with at least 40 points this season.
