TEAM-BY-TEAM BREAKDOWN
  • Baylor: The four-time defending national champions enter nationals 9-0 on the season, and have won 27 consecutive meets. The Bears beat fellow qualifiers Quinnipiac, Oregon, Hawaii Pacific and Converse during the regular season, and are averaging a nation-best 282.672 per meet.
  • Oregon: The Ducks finished the regular season 5-2 overall, including wins over national qualifiers Hawaii Pacific, Quinnipiac and Azusa Pacific. Their 276.184 average was second in the NCATA, and they and Baylor have met in every NCATA tournament. Oregon won the first four NCATA national championships from 2011-14.
  • Azusa Pacific: The Cougars have reached the national semifinals in each of the past two seasons, and enter this season with a 4-2 record, with both losses coming to No. 2 Oregon. APU averages 274.955 this season.
  • Quinnipiac: The only qualifier to face Gannon this season, they handed the Lady Knights their only defeat. The Bobcats capped their third straight trip to the national semifinals last season with a win to reach the championship match, falling to Baylor. They average 272.400 this season.
  • Fairmont State: The Falcons went 6-1 this season, culminating with the first-ever Mountain East Conference championship. They earned victories over fellow qualifiers Converse and Hawaii Pacific, as well as No. 9 Glenville State, and they average 273.041 per meet.
  • Converse: The Valkyries handed Fairmont State its only loss of the season as the teams split the season series, and are back at nationals for the second time in just the second year as a program. Converse averaged 271.432 points per meet this season.
  • Hawaii Pacific: The Sharks are just 1-5 on the season, but averaged the fifth-highest meet total in the country at 272.987. That record was due to a brutal schedule that saw HPU take on Baylor (twice), Oregon, Fairmont State and Azusa Pacific, which helped the Sharks extend their run to six nationals appearances in six years as a program.
