The Short Story: Sophomore Bryce Ebel (Summerville, Ore./La Grande) swept the distance freestyles with individual victories in the 500-yard and 1,000-yard frees and sophomore Thomas Marshall (Geneseo, N.Y./Geneseo) won the 100-yard freestyle, but the Gannon men's swim team was defeated by Division I Canisius College, 136-84, on the Golden Knight's Senior Night Friday.

EVENT NOTES

Before the start of the meet, seniors Cole Davis (Millersburg, Pa./Millersburg), Noah Donovan (Ellwood City, Pa./Laurel) and Michael Weiser (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park) were honored.
The Golden Knights recorded 13 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying standards in the final tune up meet before the PSAC Championships in mid-February.
Bryce Ebel (Summerville, Ore./La Grande) shattered his previous personal-best time of 10:07.72 in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a winning time of 9:58.20 Friday night. It was his third win in the event this season.
Ebel also notched his third victory of the year in the 500-yard freestyle. He also recorded wins against Tiffin and John Carroll.
Jake Rehrer (Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills) reached the PSAC standard in the 50-yard freestyle with his career-best time of 22.58.
Thomas Marshall (Geneseo, N.Y./Geneseo) captured in the 100-yard freestyle for the third meet this season. He also secured victories against Shippensburg and Grove City.
