ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon swimming teams each took home wins in the regular season finale against Penn State Behrend. Gannon will now prepare for PSAC Championships from February 18th-21st.

Along the way, the Golden Knights set history four times - breaking four pool records in the Women 200 butterfly & 200 backstroke, along with the men's 100 fly and 200 free relay.

Records for the Men: Two pool records were broken on the men's side on Saturday. First, Kuba Loboda's (Lublin, Poland) time of 49.26 set a record mark in the 100 butterfly. He would later join with Nickolas Ambrosiani (Seward, Alaska/Seward), Bengimin Ambrosiani (Seward, Alaska/Seward), and Nikita Poparcea to set the 200 freestyle relay pool record mark of 1:23.52
• Records for the Women: The women set two pool records of their own. Emily Hedges (Peachtree Corners, Ga./St Pius X Catholic), racing to a first place finish, secured a time of 2:09.71, a pool record and more than four seconds faster than the rest of the field. Meanwhile, Juliana Romero (Bogotá, Columbia/Colegio pureza de Maria) went 2:06.37 in the 200 backstroke, breaking that record mark and earning a top finish. 
• Other Results: Elisa Armentia Moliner and Dexter Jones (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) were first in the 1000 freestyle in their respective races ... Dylan Ray (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney Community) & Aidar Sataev (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan/Forest Hill) went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke, separated by just two one hundredths of a second ... Romero also won the 50 freestyle in a crowded field (25.07) ... Mariia Melnyk (Kyiv, Ukraine/Education Center Optima) picked up wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle.
Team SuccessThe Golden Knights secured momentum heading into championship season with a sweep of the Lions. The men's team improved to 6-1 on the season, while the women's record jumped to 3-4.
