ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team saw its three-meet win streak come to an end Monday night with a pair of losses at the Fairmont State Tri-Meet. The Lady Knights fell against defending national champion Oregon 281.05-248.885 and dropped a 262.505-248.885 decision against the host school.
Gannon captured its lone sweep of the evening during the second acro heat.
Haili Menard (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood),
Paisley Moses (Eugene, Ore./Henry D. Sheldon),
Alexa Maldonado (Dundee, Ore./Newberg) and
Lindsay Moir (Erie, Pa./McDowell) swept the field with a 9.70 score. The Lady Knights outperformed Fairmont State's 9.55 total and Oregon's 9.45 score.

Chelsea Shaw's squad also picked up three victories against Fairmont State. Gannon edged the Fighting Falcons 7.15-6.85 in the tumbling portion of the compulsories. The Lady Knights then took two of three from Fairmont State during the toss event, out-scoring the Fighting Falcons 9.30-9.15 during the first heat and 9.25-9.10 during the third heat.
Gannon dropped to 3-4 with Monday's setbacks. Top-ranked Oregon improved to 7-0, winning its 27th consecutive meet in the process. The streak dates back to March 24, 2011. Fairmont State moved to 5-1 overall with its second victory of the season against the Lady Knights.
The Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team returns home Saturday, April 5 against Adrian (Mich.) at the Hammermill Center. The meet is scheduled for 5 p.m.
