EUCLID, Ohio - The Gannon women's water polo team dropped its only contest on Sunday to NCAA Division I Indiana by a score of 15-5.
The Lady Knights fell behind after the first quarter as the Hoosiers out-scored Gannon 3-1. Indiana took control of the match in the second quarter when they exploded for six goals while limiting Gannon to just one.
Entering the second half trailing 9-2, Gannon was unable to gain any momentum offensively, netting just one goal in the third quarter. The Hoosiers added four to extend their lead to 13-3. The fourth quarter scoring was even at two each to make the final score 15-5.
Colleen Harriger (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) netted four of Gannon's five goals while
Katelyn Jacobs (Brookfield, Ill. / Lyons Township) added the other score.
Janelle Bartman (Darien, Ill. / Adlai E. Stevenson) recorded six blocks in goal.
Gannon fell to 8-18 overall with the loss. The Lady Knights will play a pair of matches on March 31.
