Gannon Swim Teams Host PSAC Foe Bloomsburg Friday Night at the CAP

The Gannon swim teams will be in front of the home fans Friday night for the second time this season.
ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's and men's swim teams return home tonight (November 2) to host Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Bloomsburg at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion. The dual meet is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Gannon-Bloomsburg History: Both Gannon teams have defeated Bloomsburg the last two seasons at meets hosted by Indiana (Pa.). The Lady Knights defeated the Huskies 193-182 in 2011-12 and 221-154 in 2010-11. The Golden Knights produced a 243.50-115.50 victory last season and a 204-127 win in 2010-11 at the same meet.

Team Notes
  • Gannon is hosting its second home event during the first three weeks of the season. The Lady Knights will only have one more home event the rest of the season, hosting NCAA Division I Canisius on  January 12.
  • Gannon recorded its best conference finish since 2009 last season with a fourth-place finish.
  • The Lady Knights posted 11 dual-meet victories for the first time since the 2007-08 season, finishing 11-6.
  • Thirteen Gannon female swimmers qualified for last year's PSAC Championships.
  • In addition to serving as the host for the first time in school history, Gannon swimmers (female and male) broke 10 school records and recorded 50 NCAA “B” cut times during the PSAC Championships.
  • Ten of the women's 19 school records were broken last season.
