Gannon Swimming Takes Two of Three at Quad Meet Tuesday

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Gannon swimming and diving teams competed at the Cleveland State quad meet Tuesday afternoon. Both the men and the women defeated John Carroll and Notre Dame (Ohio) College and fell to Cleveland State. 

The women beat JCU 163.5-68.5 and NDC 165-63 while dropping a 155.5-82.5 decision to the Vikings. The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Sarah Anderson (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Ellie Hess (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell), Rachel Rzymek (Erie, Pa./McDowell), and Kaitlyn Bosy (Courtice, Ontario/Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary) combined to win in 1:39.92 seconds. Jackie Rzymek (Erie, Pa./McDowell) set a school record with a 58.91 swim in the 100 yard butterfly. She took second in the race. 

The men won 122-110 over John Carroll and 146-75 over Notre Dame. They fell 158-68 to CSU. 

The Knights host Allegheny College Friday, November 13, in their next event. The meet is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion.
