Smith hit .350 (7-20) with a .450 slugging percentage and .350 on-base percentage last week. The freshman outfielder recorded two doubles, four RBIs and nine total bases in six games. She hit .444 (4-9) with runners on base. Smith was perfect in three at-bats with runners in scoring position and two at-bats with the bases loaded while raising her average seven points to a .333 mark. She began the week by going 3-for-7 with four RBIs and two doubles during a pair of non-conference games against Point Park. Smith produced three RBIs during a 5-2 victory in the opener. With the game tied at two, she had a bases-clearing double that provided the winning margin. It represented her first career three-RBI game. Smith finished the week by going 3-for-7 during a twinbill at Slippery Rock, producing her sixth multiple-hit game of the season in the opener. She owns Gannon’s second-best average (.333) through 38 games of her freshman season. Smith ranks second on the team in on-base percentage (.417).
