Wendel helped the Gannon volleyball team post three-set sweeps of Seton Hill and California (Pa.) last weekend at the Hammermill Center, breaking a three-way tie for second place among those programs in the PSAC Western Division. The senior setter averaged 12.5 assists during six sets last weekend, totaling 75 for the entire two-match run. She began the weekend with 44 assists against Seton Hill, setting a season-high in three-set contests. Wendel added three kills in four attempts against the Griffins. She concluded the weekend with her ninth double-double of the season with 31 assists and 14 digs against Cal. It represented her second-most digs this season, finishing four shy of the 18 she recorded against Edinboro.The Aurora, Ohio, native continues to add to her school record that she set last week for career assists. Wendel currently has 3,846 career assists. Gannon improved to 20-2 overall last weekend, recording its sixth consecutive 20-win season. The Lady Knights have swept all eight home opponents this year and have won 12 consecutive home matches dating back to last season.
