Austin helped the Gannon men's basketball team split a weekend Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover road trip that started with an overtime loss at Millersville, before concluding with a 62-50 victory at Shippensburg. The redshirt senior forward averaged 12 points and 5.5 rebounds off the bench during the two games. He shot 68.8 percent (11-16) from the field and was a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Austin began the week with a season-high 16 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench at Millersville, hitting 7-of-9 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws. Trailing 51-39, Gannon ripped off 10 consecutive points. Smith accounted for the last seven points of the run, including a pair of free throws that brought Gannon within 51-49 at the 4:24 mark. With 26 seconds left in regulation, Austin tipped in a missed shot to tie the score at 53 and force overtime. The Cleveland, Ohio, native then added eight points and four rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench during a victory at Shippensburg. Austin finished 4-of-7 from the field. He is Gannon's leading scorer off the bench this season with 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Austin owns Gannon's top field goal percentage, hitting 67.4 percent (31-46) of his shot attempts.
