Gannon University Athletics

Gunnell returns as a mainstay on the Gannon pitching staff … could see time as a starter and reliever … transferred from Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College prior to the 2009 season.

2009: Pitched in 14 games out of the bullpen … made his first Gannon appearance against St. Anselm during the spring trip, allowing one run in two innings … earned saves during his first two Gannon outings against St. Anselm and Lock Haven … secured a 3-1 victory against Lock Haven with a scoreless seventh inning … picked up his first career victory at Indiana (Pa.) … did not allow an earned run in his last three appearances … struck out a season-high three hitters in 2 1/3 innings against Lock Haven in PSAC action.

Jamestown Community College: Played for head coach Anthony Barone at Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College.

High School: Played for head coach Tim Butzer at Falconer (N.Y.) High School … named CCIAC Player of the Year in 2004-05, as well as being named to the first team as a catcher ... earned all-conference honorable-mention accolades as a catcher in 2002-03 and as a pitcher in 2003-04.

Personal: Elementary Education major ... has one brother ... son of Bonnie and Jeffery Gunnell.
