Gannon University Athletics

Hucsko returns as one of Gannon’s starting pitchers … transferred from Niagara County (N.Y.) Community College prior to the 2009-10 academic year.

2010: Made eight appearances, all starts … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … earned his first career victory at Gannon with a 2-1 decision at Lock Haven, allowing only one run in 6 1/3 innings … scattered four hits while striking out two against the Bald Eagles … struck out a season-high five hitters in 5 1/3 innings of work at Slippery Rock.

At Niagara County Community College: Played for head coach Matt Clingersmith … was a two-year starting pitcher … led the team to a 35-9 record en route to the Region 3 Division 3 title … helped Niagara County advance to the National Junior College World Series … served as a team co-captain … earned all-conference academic honors … was a member of the Dean’s List … had a cumulative 3.50 grade-point average … helped Niagara County finish 18-15 in 2008, placing second in the region … went 5-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 54 innings pitched as a freshman.

High School: Played for head coach Alan Montgomery at Preston (Ontario) High School … was a starting pitcher for the Canadian Thunderbirds in 2007, helping the team get seeded in the Super Sandlot World Series … played for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame team in 2006, serving as one of the team’s captains and starting pitchers … named to the Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO) All-Star Game … was an Ontario Scholar as a senior … graduated with honors … was a member of the enhanced program in ninth and 10th grades.

Personal: Environmental Science major ... has one sister and one brother ... son of Susan and John … is a member of the Environment Science Club … has a 3.50 grade-point average at Gannon … is a member of the Gannon Dean’s List.
