Fanto is expected to compete for playing time in the infield, mostly as a second baseman.

2009: Saw action in four games … did not record a hit in three at-bats … was hit by a pitch during his lone at-bat against Lewis (Ill.).

2008: Played in eight games … walked and scored a run April 1 against Indiana (Pa.) … recorded his lone hit April 19 against Ashland ... was hit by a pitch and scored a run April 26 at Saginaw Valley State.

2007: Played in 13 games, starting five ... recorded first career hit in his first career at-bat against Wheeling Jesuit ... made his first career start at Ohio Valley, going 1-for-2 ... added a hit and a run in three at-bats against Findlay ... committed only one error in 19 fielding opportunities.

High School: Played for head coach Bob Southworth at Corcoran (N.Y.) High School ... named to the All-Central New York honorable-mention team as a senior.

Personal: Criminal Justice major ... has one brother ... son of Joanne and Richard Fanto.
