Callaway is Gannon’s returning starter at shortstop as a senior … transferred from NCAA Division I Bowling Green (Ohio) University prior to the 2016-17 academic year.

2017: Started 39 games during his first season as a Golden Knight … batted in six different lineup positions, including 23 starts between the sixth and seventh spots … finished second among Golden Knights in runs (26), doubles (8), home runs (5) and walks (14) … tied for the team lead in stolen bases (5) … hit .400 (8-20) against left-handers … drove home a run 52.9 percent (9-17) of the time when batting with a runner on third base and less than two outs … produced nine two-out RBIs … finished second on the team in multiple-RBI games (7) and third in multiple-hit performances (11) … hit the 12th-most home runs in a single season all-time at Gannon … made his Gannon debut with a 2-for-3 showing, one run, two RBIs, one double and one walk at Limestone (S.C.) … recorded a hit during his first three games in a Golden Knight uniform … scored multiple runs in a game four times … went 2-for-4 with three runs and one walk during a 15-2 victory against Wheeling Jesuit at the Russ-Matt Invitational in Winter Haven, Florida … finished 2-for-4 with one run, a season-high three RBIs , one home run and one stolen base at California (Pa.) … ended the Cal twinbill 3-for-7 with three runs, four RBIs, one double, one home run and one stolen base … tied his season-high in RBIs during an 11-6 win against Slippery Rock … added two hits, two runs, one double and one stolen base in four at-bats against the Rock … went 11 games without an error April 8-22, spanning 38 fielding opportunities.

At Bowling Green: Played in 70 games during a two-year span, starting 47 … saw time at third base, shortstop and catcher … split time between the baseball and football programs during spring football practices … played in six games at quarterback as a freshman, completing 12-of-26 passes for 153 yards … came off the bench at Toledo to throw for 96 yards and a touchdown … was a perfect 3-of-3 for 29 yards during his collegiate debut against VMI.

High School: Played for head coach Scott Jalowiec at Midview (Ohio) High School … hit .394 as a senior … was a three-time all-state first-team selection … named to the all-district and all-county first team four times each … served as a team captain during his last three years … named Midview’s Player of the Year … was a Mr. Baseball Finalist … helped Midview win a pair of conference championships … was a two-sport athlete, letting four times in baseball and four times in football … served as the football team captain during his last two years … earned All-Ohio, all-region and all-conference football honors ... selected to play in the Ohio-Michigan All-Star football game … passed for a Lorain County-record 7,180 yards and 69 career touchdowns … had 8,840 yards from scrimmage during his career … threw for 2,496 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior … named Northeast Lakes District Offensive Football Player of the Year as a junior.

Personal: Criminal Justice major … is the son of Angie and Dwayne … has one sister and one brother … drafted in the 34th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft by the Cleveland Indians, before electing to attend Bowling Green as a two-sport student-athlete.
