DiPaolo returns as Gannon’s closer for the second consecutive season in 2017 … enters his senior campaign third all-time at Gannon since 2000 in saves (6), 16th in victories (6) and 17th in appearances (28) … needs one save to tie Gannon’s all-time record.

2016: Made 22 relief appearances … finished 5-2 with a 2.33 earned run average and six saves … struck out 24 hitters in 27 innings … limited the opposition to a .238 overall average … named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division first team … earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region second-team honors … held right-handers to a .226 average (19-84) … kept opposing batters to a .222 average (14-63) with runners on base and .257 mark (9-35) with two outs … ranked third among PSAC pitchers and 58th nationally in saves … posted the 16th-highest single-season victory total in program history … opened the season with three scoreless appearances, picking up two saves in the process during a 3-2 victory against Cleary and 11-10 win against Wheeling Jesuit … shut the door during back-to-back saves in an 8-7 victory against Indiana (Pa.) and 6-4 win against Pitt-Johnstown … didn’t allow an earned run during 17 of 22 appearances … struck out multiple hitters nine times … recorded eight consecutive scoreless appearances from March 12-April 10 … didn’t walk a batter during his final seven outings, spanning 12 innings.

2015: Saw action in six games as a relief pitcher … limited the opposition to a .250 average (4-16) with the bases empty … made his collegiate debut during the fourth game of the season at Limestone, tossing 1 1/3 innings … recorded his first career strikeout against the Saints … earned his first career victory with two scoreless innings during a 4-3 win against St. Joseph’s (Ind.) … made three consecutive relief appearances without allowing an earned run, concluding with an inning against both Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock.

2014: Did not play in a varsity game.

High School: Played for head coach Dale Checkettes at Bishop Canevin (Pa.) High School … served as a team captain … helped Bishop Canevin qualify for three consecutive conference tournaments, advancing to the semifinals and moving into the state playoffs as a sophomore … was a member of the high honor roll … named to the All-State Academic second team.

Personal: Biology major … is the son of Lori and Lou … has one brother.
