Grimone returns with starting experience as a designated hitter in 2017.

2016: Played in 13 games, starting eight as a designated hitter … batted ninth during all eight starting assignments … hit .375 (3-8) against left-handers, .350 (7-20) against right-handers, .316 (6-19) with runners on base and .444 (4-9) with the bases empty … reached base 71.4 percent (5-7) of the time when leading off an inning … recorded three multiple-hit games … accounted for his first career hit with his first career home run during an 11-10 victory against Wheeling Jesuit at the Russ-Matt Invitational in Winter Haven, Florida … hit .333 (3-9) during the invitational … ended the year with a season-best five-game hit streak … went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs during a 16-6 win at Pitt-Johnstown … followed with a 2-for-3 showing against California (Pa.) … scored once, drove home a run and had a double against the Vulcans.

2015: Saw action in four games, starting two … made his collegiate debut as a pinch hitter against Ashland during the Russ-Matt Invitational … served as Gannon’s starting designated hitter against Pitt-Johnstown and California (Pa.) … was called upon to pinch hit for the second time at Seton Hill.

2014: Did not play in a varsity game.

2013: Redshirted.

High School: Played for head coach Ryan Bresslin at Cameron County (Pa.) High School … produced the team’s highest batting average as a junior and senior … named team MVP … hit .478 as a senior … earned a spot on the honor roll … was a two-sport athlete, being named team MVP for the basketball program.

Personal: Business Administration major … is the son of Jackie and Peter … has one brother.
