JOHNSTOWN, PAÂ -Â Gannon is back on top of the regional mountain! The Golden Knights captured the 2026 Atlantic/East regional crown in dramatic fashion on Saturday, defeating Charleston (WV) on the first playoff hole. Gannon's combined aggregate score (five golfers teeing off, four scores used) was 14 (-2), including two birdies. The Golden Eagles finished with 15 (-1) on the playoff hole.Â
In the process, Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) claimed second place in the individual field, ending his tournament at one-under par. He would play six playoff holes against Pau Sanchez of Charleston (WV), falling on the final playoff hole.Â
The victory qualifies Gannon to the NCAA Championship tournament for the fifth time in the last six years. GU finished the day at five over par and +21 for the tournament.Â
"This means so much to us," noted head coach Scott Stano. "We've been working so hard for this all year and have had the goal of recapturing the regional crown. I'm so proud of the team for grinding out the win in the way we did today. We couldn't have done this without every team member. This is a special group and we're excited to spend another couple of weeks together!"

THE KNIGHTCAP - GANNON RESULTS
Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) (T1st / -1) (Finished Second - Lost on Sixth Playoff Hole)
Seppanen was consisent again in the final round, leading for the majority of the day. He would birdie the par four sixth hole and finish one-under 34 on the front nine. After a bogey on 10, he would immediately birdie the 11th and earns pars until the 15th hole. An incredible birdie on the par three 16th hole highlighted the round as he hit his tee shot to three feet and made the short putt. Tied for first at one under after the round, he would battle for six playoff holes before eventually giving way and claiming runner-up for the second consecutive year. Â
Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) (T4/ +3)
Parrini had another extremely solid round to close his regional tournament, shooting an even par 70 on Saturday. The junior birdied the par four third hole and went back to back in red numbers on the eighth and ninth, carding a 34 on the front nine. He would also birdie the 11th hole and finish tied for fourth across the individual field.Â
Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) (T9 / +5)Â
Wolak was as solid as they came on Saturday and throughout the tournament, carding a top 10 finish in his first start of all three rounds in a regional. The southpaw birdied the first hole of the day and went one over 36 on the front nine. A birdie on the 11th and 14th holes soon followed, and after finishing the back nine in red number, Wolak finished tied for ninth and had just three bogeys on the card in the final round.Â
Mario Estevez (Gijón, Spain/Colegio Montedeva de Gijón) (T78 / +19)
Estevez battled through adversity on Saturdfay, starting off strong with a birdie on the sixth hole and an even par 35 at the halfway point of the round. He would finish with a round of 75 and in the top 80 for the tournament.Â
Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) (T58 / +16)
Delorenzi finished the final regional round for his collegiate career with a score of 77, including a stretch of pars from the ninth to the 12th holes.Â

Gannon will prepare for the NCAA National Championships from May 18th-22nd. The competition will be held in Las Vegas, NV at Boulder Creek Golf Club.Â
