ERIE, PA – Gannon took home two victories on Sunday in a doubleheader sweep of Slippery Rock. GU took three of four from the Rock in the series. Â
In the opening game, the Golden Knights erupted for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by a walk-off grand slam from Chris Mullins (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), to rally past Slippery Rock for an 8-6 win in game one. Â
Gannon would score five unanswered runs in the second game after trailing 1-0 early in game two. A Hunter Troiano (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seneca Valley) home run was the catalyst for a three-run third inning. SRU would cut the deficit to 5-4 in the sixth, but Logan Ayres (New Castle, Pa./Laurel) would collect the save to preserve the twinbill sweep. Â
