Winter sports postseasons are nearly complete, but there is still important business to attend to for one top-ten-ranked Gannon squad. Elsewhere, spring sports remain in the thick of the seasons as three teams get set to host their home openers later this week.

POSTSEASON RECAP LAST WEEK

For the first time in a quarter of a century, Gannon men's wrestling has a national champion. Dorian Crosby, the top seed at 285 pounds, took down the field of competition at the NCAA Championship meet in Sioux Falls, SD over the weekend. Crosby was victorious in all four of his matches, including two sudden victory wins in the semi-finals and the championship to hoist the title. He is the first men's wrestler since 2001 to win an individual national championship.

In total, the Golden Knights came home with five individual all-Americans and finished ninth in a field of nearly 50 teams.

Men's basketball stands as the lone remaining winter sports squad to remain in the national tournament field. The Golden Knights will be hosting the Atlantic region championship game later this evening against IUP.

THIS WEEK

No. 6 Men's Basketball (30-3)

Tuesday, March 17th - vs IUP - 7:00 pm

Revenge is a dish best served cold. After falling in the PSAC championship game last Sunday to Cal (PA), Gannon exacted revenge against their conference foe in Sunday's Atlantic Regional semifinal. An 89-73 victory, coupled with a win over Charleston (WV) in the opening round on Saturday, see the Golden Knights now in their third consecutive regional championship game.

Pace Prosser (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) was tremendous in the semi final. The sophomore tallied career high 30 points in the victory, and Gannon scored 52 points in the paint.

Tonight's regional championship game will be the fourth meeting of the year between the Golden Knights and Crimson Hawks. Gannon has won all three prior matchups this season, including in the conference semi finals last Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

No. 9 Acrobatics & Tumbling (4-2)

Wednesday, March 18th - vs Mary-Hardin Baylor - 6:00 pm (Senior Night)
