The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with Gannon's Brooklyn Respecki (McKean, Pa./General McLane) and Morgan Sinan (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) both earning recognition after standout performances that powered the No. 9 Golden Knights to a 2–0 week. It marks the second PSAC West weekly sweep of the season for the Gannon women's soccer program.
Respecki, a junior forward, fueled the Gannon attack with her second career hat trick in a 5–0 win over Roberts Wesleyan. She followed with another goal in a 6–0 victory at Seton Hill, finishing the week with four goals, one assist, and eight points on eight shots. Respecki converted at a .500 clip while placing seven of her attempts on frame, pushing her season totals to a team-leading four goals and eight points. This is the third PSAC weekly honor of her career.
On the defensive side, graduate goalkeeper Morgan Sinan (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) was steady between the posts as Gannon posted back-to-back shutouts. She combined with the backline to limit opponents to just five total shots on the week, recording four saves for a perfect 1.000 save percentage. Sinan recently set the program record for career shutouts with her 16th in a 1–0 win over California (Pa.) in the PSAC West and home opener earlier this season.
The veteran keeper noted she wouldn't have those low shot totals without the effort of the Golden Knight defense, which has been dominant in front of her. Colin Petersen's squad has outshot opponents 20–1 so far this fall and already registered four shutouts. This is the second PSAC weekly award of Sinan's career.
The Golden Knights have now outscored opponents 20–1 through their first five matches, posting four shutouts during that span while climbing into the national top 10.
