Petersen Selected to PSAC Spring Top 10 for Second Time

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon women's golfer Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) has added yet another award to her long resume'. Petersen has been selected as a PSAC Spring Top 10 honoree. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the ten recipients this afternoon. In addition to Petersen, Giovanni Delorenzi, a member of the men's golf team, earned a spot on the coveted team.

The five women's PSAC Top 10 honorees also included Keri Barnett of West Chester, the Slippery Rock duo of Alexsa Hurd and Anna Igims, and Bloomsburg's Kelly Leszcynski, Bloomsburg.

The Top 10 Awards, selected by the PSAC's sports information directors, recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom as well as in the arena of competition. The conference designates Top 10 Award winners (five men and five women) after each of the sports seasons: fall, winter, and spring.

To be a candidate for the Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.

Petersen is one of the most decorated players not only inGannon's women's golf history but PSAC women's golf history. She was recently named Gannon's Senior Co-Female Athlete of the Year. In the classroom, she maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA as a Marketing major. This is her second selection to the PSAC Top 10, also earning the offer in 2023. Petersen was named to the 2023–24 CSC Academic All-America® At-Large Second Team and is a three-time CSC Academic All-District® selection (2022–23, 2023–24, 2024-25)

The native of Dianalund, Denmark was named the 2025 PSAC Women's Golfer of the Year for the third time, just the second golfer ever to accomplish that fete. She was previously named the PSAC Freshman of the Year in 2020-21.

She became just the second PSAC women's golfer to win a major award four times and the first to earn a major award all four years of her career. She was a four-time first team All-PSAC honoree.

Petersen led the Golden Knights with a 76.4 average over 28 rounds, including 24 rounds in the 70's and nine of 75-or-less. She finished in the top five in seven tournaments, winning three times. She won the PSAC Championship for the third consecutive season with a 17-over par total of 233. In addition, she was the medalist in the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational and the Cav Classic.

Petersen concluded her career with seven first-place finishes to tie the school record for most wins in a career. Gannon's last women's PSAC Top 10 was Samantha Pirosko from women's basketball last winter.
