Gannon Finishes 13th at NCAA Div. II East Regional

LeCureux fires 73 on final day

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Gannon women's golf team wrapped up its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Div. II East Regional in 13th place as the third round concluded on Wednesday.

The Golden Knights finished with their best 18-hole total of the 54-hole event at 307 for a 54-hole total of 90-over par 954. The 307 score was 13 strokes better than their opening-day total of 320. Oddly enough, the 954 total was just five strokes off what Gannon shot a year ago while finishing in a tie for seventh.

Grand Valley State won the East Regional team title with a 54-hole total of 16-over par 880. That was 11 strokes better than Findlay's 891 total. The top five teams from the East Regional advance to the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships.

Findlay's Ashleigh Duflo held off Charlotte Goersch of Grand Valley State to claim medalist honors. Duflo finished at even-par 216, one stroke better than Goersch.

Junior Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) also matched her lowest round of the year with a 78.

Her final round included four birdies, with three coming on the front nine. LeCureux finished with a 1-under 36 on the front nine and she finished her round with a birdie on the par-4 18th hole.
