Inside an electric Highmark Events Center, the No. 11 Gannon Acrobatics and Tumbling team celebrated its seniors and head coach in an emotional regular-season finale against No. 3 Quinnipiac. Despite a strong start and a competitive performance, the Golden Knights came up short, falling 267.395 to 255.315.
Gannon opened the meet with energy and precision, narrowly winning the compulsory event 35.950 to 35.000 to grab early momentum. Quinnipiac responded quickly, using strong execution to take the lead in the acro, pyramid, and toss events. By the time the teams reached the tumbling and team rounds, the Bobcats had built a lead they would maintain through the finish.
While the final score favored Quinnipiac, the afternoon was about more than the meet itself. Gannon honored its senior class
Charisma Felix (Las Vegas, Nev./College of So. Nevada High School West),
Nicole Pavia (Oxford, Conn./Oxford High),
Reagan McMahon (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic),
Lillie Fritz (Chandler, Ariz./Chandler),
Lauren Rupert (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore), and
Megan Revell (Richland, Wash./Richland High) for their leadership and impact on the program.
The meet also marked head coach
Brandy Duren's final home appearance, closing a meaningful chapter in her tenure as head of the Golden Knights' acrobatics and tumbling program.
With the regular season complete, Gannon now awaits the at-large selections for the
NCATA National Championship, set to take place
April 24–27 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
