No. 7 Acrobatics & Tumbling Closes Regular Season with Win Over Canisius

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The No. 7 Gannon acrobatics & tumbling team concluded its regular season with a strong performance, defeating Canisius 261.565–225.650 on Thursday evening inside the Koessler Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Gannon built an early advantage in the compulsory event, posting a 37.15 to take control of the meet and carry a 95.30–88.35 lead into halftime.

The Golden Knights continued to separate themselves in the acro event, highlighted by a season-high 9.90 in the 5-element heat.

Gannon remained consistent through the pyramid event before delivering one of its strongest toss performances of the season, finishing with a season-high 29.10 in the event, including a 9.90 in the open toss.

The Golden Knights added a 52.375 in tumbling before closing out the meet with an 84.790 in the team event to secure the victory.

UP NEXT
The top eight teams in the final NCATA rankings will qualify for the 2026 NCATA National Championships, set to be hosted by Azusa Pacific University at the Felix Events Center.

The eight-team, single-elimination tournament begins Thursday, April 23 with quarterfinal matchups, followed by semifinals on Friday evening and the national championship meet on Saturday, April 25 at 5:00 p.m. Event finals will take place Sunday morning.

The official championship field and event finals qualifiers will be announced on Monday, April 13.
